What format is required to print logo/graphic of motorbike..
Posted by Gavin Conway on 20 April 2011 at 16:35Hi everyone… I don’t do printed signs so need advice.
:help: I am doing signs for a friends van and need to get some printed graphics done as well. He has a bike sales shop and would like his own bike on the sides and rear of his van..
What format is required for the file to be saved in after we have taken the photo and photo shopped as required to give best print results? Also what do we do with setting up the bike for the photo shoot… background etc.
I would also be looking for someone to do the graphics for me.

I’m very new to the print market but we always export as an EPS file to print.
As for the photo shoot I’m no help I’m afraid. -
Hi Gavin
eps or pdf for the file
as for the photo shoot good lighting is essential weather it be studio lighting
or site lamps and have a contrasting background bright green or blue or white it will save you loads of time cutting it out in photoshop, fluid mask is fantastic for cut outs -
Hi Neil / Robert thanks for the replies…
If the background is bright green do you manipulate the graphic not to print the green?
My son is a hobbyist photo guy and likes photoshop… would it be better for him to cut the background out or not?

Evening
I always use photoshop to cut out a car or bike and then delete the background.
One tip if you doing in photoshop i have found for curved items like wheels etc is do very tiny lines while cutting as this then keeps a nice round shape.

defo cut the photo out,
the green background just makes it easier to distinguish between the thing
your taking a photo of and the background
this is a nice easy way

its a good way to make a path in spokes and round cables and the likeit doesn’t have to be green, i use a white wall in my unit (unless its something white im photographing)

people won’t reply as it’s against forum rules to openly offer your services for work!
you can post in the sub contracting and quotes forum and ask for quotes that way.

I just purchased Photokey 4 Pro to do chromokey. For me, it had to be quick & simple – I don’t have the time to learn yet more software 🙂
Take a look at the video on Youtube Not wishing to advertise but the best way to illustrate. The process is so simple and the instant result very impressive!
