i think the concept is very good, its easy to use but it is limited in whats available. that said, for companies just starting out, it could be worth while.
most of the logos are pretty bog standard royalty free stuff, but when you consider some of the logos/designs that actual “so called” sign firms put out these days. you might be better off with this :lol1:

autosign – please elaborate on replies like this.

Looks expensive for what you get.

Dont think it will pose a threat to designers, in effect anyone can buy a programme like publisher, for far less money, and have much more for less.

i think “to an extent” your right dave. this is just a little insight to how things will be tommorrow. probably by then far more advanced with endless possibilities.

see, a very missunderstood thing is that us sign writers ‘design’ peoples ‘advertising-image’… the customer then thinks that a logo/image is theirs when they buy it… in fact that is not true, it is the designers (or designers company) who own the rights.

So for someone to ‘supply’ their logo for sign writing may become a reality… then again when you look how sucessful websites like istockphoto is with their cheap images, the image does remain the photographers right but i can see an image version, particularly with XML being a strong standard that it is, a website can easily have functionality..

These days you can make a website with the last 24 hours of post in under 10minutes of programming!!!

    Dave,
never mind the logos, there are quite a few sites than offer signage for vans in a similar way, do a bit of drag and drop, then just press order!

Talking of design though I was in Blackpool the other day, and I have never seen as many vans with horrible print on them! dont know if its just because there are a lot of inexperinced people with cadets etc. around there, or just northern bad taste?
