    Hi

I am looking to buy a vinyl cutter…

I am a designer and have a couple clients who have asked me about vinyl signs. So, I have been looking around at what and how it is done.

I am not sure about vinyl signs, as I have never worked with them before! From what I can understand, there is a vinyl cutter which cutters one colour vinyl from vector artwork and then there is another which prints and cuts.

What I am after is a ‘low cost’ entry level cutter, which can just cutter simple vinyl graphics and logos. Not sure about size, but guessing a width of A4 or A3 and the length is not a problem as the vinyl is on a roll??? What’s this about tracking?

So to my question, does anyone know any low cost cutter which work from a Mac OSX and what additional software is require to run it?

Please help and thanks in advance.

I would look for a used Graphtec such as a FC2100 – FC5100 these are well built machines and can be had used for the cost of a new cheep one.

    I just saw on eBay a used 42" FC5100-100 for (US) $1600.00

Or check you local dealer for a new CE3000.
