    Hi All

We are getting more and more requests for outdoor nature boards. basically vinyl applied to metal but I have come across a companies from the south and it looks like it has been lacquered or varnished but you can’t see or feel the edge of the vinyl. Anybody know how these are made as they look and feel they will last

    Hi Paul

I’d say the initial image/text is printed with a clear laminate on top.

Probably a nice clear liquid over laminate. We used a product from the States called POR 15 which was a two pack. Lasted really well outdoors in all weathers. Jillybeans would be able to tell you the trade name for it.

Great for use on metal – Infact I think I bought it from AutoGlym or someone like that. Used for permanent coatings on stainless and chrome.

sounds more like the signs encapsulated in GRP, very good product for interpretation panels.

Could well be GRP encapsulated or GRP inset printed or maybe even sublimation printed. Any of the above you wouldn’t feel any raised surface. Do you know the manufacturer or have you got a picture, would make identifying a lot easier.
