  • What are the rules to LED advertising vans

    Hi
I might not have worded the title correctly.

We are looking at other revenue streams. ie mobile advertising van via LED screens.

I have seen quite a few on the road, but always they are parked up. Is there a rule that says you cannot display moving adverts (like a tv) while the said vehicle is moving on the road.

Must be static. Otherwise, other road users may be distracted and kill someone lol

And check with local council – some council will move the vehicle on / issue warning very quickly if parked on highways.

I thought that tbh, but what about fixed moving led signage, there’s quite a few popping up now, we’ve just had a 20x10ft installed in place of a old advertising board up by our shop.. I take it these must be ok, but can cause just the same distractions

There is loads of planning rules with them. I looked at them & the VMS boards with a Tool Hire company & for the investment vs the return it’s poor ROI
