    Hi everyone

I’ve been offered a summa d60, it was purchased direct from summa approx 5 months ago. Knowing a few people on here use this machine i thought i’d try and get some feedback about its good and bad points.
Its been offered to me for £1000, I know i can buy new for approx £1500 + vat =£1700 ish but i’m not vat registered so it does present quite a saving against new cost.
I guess it must still be under warranty from summa, is this transferable, and how long is the manufacturers warranty on these?
This machine would be replacing my current plotter, a mimaki cg-51 any ideas how it will compare for cut speed, accuracy etc ?
Any ideas if it will work ok with my signlab 4,95 software?

Thanks in advance for any feedback
    Paul

Better ask Sparky on this one Paul, he runs a D60, Oi carrot cruncher you awake! down there in deepest darkest Fenland.

    Summa D60

We have had ours & worked it hard for over 2 years now – faultless !!!

Tracks like a dream (best ever was a 3 metre run @ something like 578mm from 610 vinyl)

Fast as you will ever want it to be

    Reliable as they come.

What more can i say ??

Other than insulting that muppet in boston for calling me a carrot cruncher ………. 😆 😆 😆

Thanks for the feedback, I went to see the cutter yesterday, it was as described, hardly used and in as new condition but ……it looks so plasticky!!
my old mimaki looks (and feels) like its made from girders compared to the summa 😕
I guess this is probably true of all newer cutters so i wont let that put me off its just “progress” I suppose. I’ve not really heard a bad word about the d60 especially its tracking abilities.
Any idea who i would contact to obtain the appropriate driver for my signlab software or to download one? i’ve looked on cadlink.com without any joy.

    Cheers
    Paul

The Summa DMPL or Summa D series driver in signlab 4.95 should work, there isn’t a specific driver because your software is older than the plotter.
