Are these any good? I am not intending to use it for heavy use but it seems like a good buy at £500.

They are a bit like older Rolands. Pretty solidly built.

They won’t win any prizes for speed but get there eventually 😀

I would buy it from somebody in the UK for piece of mind though, there are a few people selling them direct from China I think.

    Thanks guys.

I take it 600mm is the most common size of cutter and should be pretty good for most types of work.

Gav Vinyl is normally manufactured in 4′ logs, so suppliers only have to chop it in half. 2′ is a pretty good size to have.

I’ve had mine a while, no problems so far, there are 2 different models though one uses com port 1 the others use usb, I found the com port model less of a problem with window’s XP, although the usb was not to much of a problem to set up either. I would also stress like the other’s buy from a reliable UK source such as the afore mentioned Alan flynn, he also set up my computer for me to run the software etc, and spent a couple of hours going through the basics with me,

seems like a good deal to me, although I noticed that it seems to only have a usb connection via an adaptor, this shouldn’t be to much of a problem but I did find that when I had to use this method of connection I had to set up a usb port as a com 1 port and slow the transfer rate to the cutter down a bit, not to hard to do and I know nothing about computers as such so any one with a little knowledge shouldn’t find this a problem, is it sign wizard who were selling the application tape dispencers, if so I did buy one of these from them this was also a good deal and if you are just starting out I would advise getting one you won’t regret it.

I bought my plotter from SignWizard, and they’ve been very helpful, speak to Paul on the tech number if you need any questions answering, they also do the app dispenser at a good rate if you buy with a cutter.

Yeah, I too bought the same one from Alan Flynn, and i’ve been very impressed with it.

Alan was also great in helping through a few small teething setup problems…
