  • What apptape is best for my business?

Posted by Erla K on September 29, 2006 at 11:00 am

Hi, unfortunatly I bought a apptape from my supplier here in Iceland & it doesnt stick to the back of the vinyl which I’ve weeded. I mostly do vinyls that I give the customer & he himself puts it where he wants it, its mostly small vinyl, maybe 50x50cm. So the apptape I have always curls upp in all corners and only sticks to the vinyl itself, not the back. This does not look professional & I have to have a new apptape and my supplier doesnt have anything else.
Can you point me to the best apptape for my kind of business? I’ve tried looking myself but almost any tape has the description that it dowsnt curl etc. and I need a tape that really sticks 😉

    Regards,
    Erla

Are you talking about this for instance "4075 Conform Application tape" ?
Where can I take a look at this Conform R on the internet? Is this high or medium tack?

Would this be a good choice then?

Hi Erla, ‘Conform-R’ is a make of app tape, whereas ‘Hi-tac’ is how sticky it is. Generally Hi-tac is used for smalller cut lettering, and medium tac is used for general use/larger pieces of vinyl.

If I’m wrong I’m sure someone will correct me!

    We use Conform 4750RLA.

It’s expensive and not many people stock it but my staff find it easier to use and, most importantly, it does make our product look more professional by not curling up at the edges.

we mostly use perfect tear that stays quite flat on the edges, have also used the conform but had a problem with static.

Rich thats why we don’t use clear as soon as you start to unwind the app tape the graphic throws its self at it 🙄

I agree on the 4075. We’ve tried allsorts and the conform has definitely given the best results.
