Good to hear that a fellow VersaCamm user is impressed with the results. I’ve been using hexis as a supplier and l’m getting great results from there vinyl. Use the Multifix 6005 profile, whack the speed up to 1000 and away you go. The speed increase doesn’t affect the print quality at all. Try their dixonjet 550 banner material, you may have to increase the inkflow up to 350-360 on this profile, very good results with this.
    Have fun.

The best application strategy is to use a low tack paper application tape and a felt type squeege , using a hard squeege directly is just looking for trouble.
Using high tack tape directly after printing is looking for trouble too , dont use an application tape till the graphic is handleable if it is slightly tacky when it comes out.
We have also used felt squeeges directly on the graphic if doing a wet application but have used a slightly soapy water solution on the face to increase “glide” , do NOT use any application fluid that contains solvents at ALL on printed graphics.
Be VERY careful applying large graphics printed on thin polymeric vinyl with large printed areas , the solvent isn the inks tend to sort of “thin” the vinyl where its printed (A far bigger problem with true solvent printers) and the vinyl tends NOT to be flat over its surface but can pucker where printed , NEVER apply these without an application tape of some sort.
The best resuts I get on vinyl are on Starrex (im not sure of the exact stock no) made by X-film , its a 5 yr polymeric vinyl with a red print on it’s backing paper and it prints absolutely amazingly with a great gloss.
For run of the mill stuff , we use grafitak with the blue printed backing.
It does exhibit a little banding on low res printing , but standard and HQ modes work real well and its cheapish but thicker than polymerics and easier to apply.

    Hi there

    My first post here.

Just got my new VersaCamm yesterday. Still reading all the manuals right now, and will set up the machine over the weekend. Just called some friends to come over to help lift the machine. Will post first hand experience here later.

By the way how many of us own this new machine here? Let us post more of our experiences here and share with everybody else.

    Thanks for reading.

I have done quote a few posters with our verscamm SP540v
and have found the best results with a sort of a satin finish poster paper which we buy from Amari Plastics comes in 61 metre rolls x 1371mm wide
have tried other suppliers but found this one gave the best results for our applications
