    Help required please.

i am using Corel v12 and a jarin mug press.

the problem: i can’t get a good solid red or black..

we have a new printer plus a bulk feeder sys fromListawood
I have installed the profiles for the D88 printer and printed a
trial colour swatch using differing ‘recipes’ to get a good vibrant red and a solid black.

even a good sized image acquired from Google lacks ‘sparkle’ and ‘life’ when printed and subbed onto mug!!

    Any ideas / tips anyone??

our previous system was an epson 1290 using artanium inks BTW

    Cheers

in corel turn off your colour management and see if the screen colours die down a bit or put in the profile in corel to see whats printable

It could just be down to the Listawood system not being as good as your previous setup 😕

Why have you went from a 6 colour system to a 4 colour system now? I’m guessing anything you produce at the moment won’t look as vibrant as it previously did.

To be honest, I’ve never been impressed by anything I’ve ever seen produced by Listawood. When I first started researching sublimation systems available I couldn’t believe how dull their sample mug looked compared to the mugs I had received from other suppliers out there.

Have you seen Novachrome’s stuff? You do pay a premium for their system BUT "It does what it says on the can"…. blacks are black, not dark blue! The only negative with them I would say is that they only seem interested in selling you the systems, after that it’s a case of get on with it.

    Thanks for the replies guys..

CM is off in Corel and the correct ICC profile for the D88 printer is loaded.

the previous system was one from ‘Transfer Press’ using the Artanium inks. yes it was a 6 colour system, but the printer packed up and the bulk system was empty, so we bought a new bulk system.. i have since found out that the D88 is about obsolete as well.
the 6 colour gamut shouldn’t really affect me as we only use the press for our own promotional mugs and the only colours i NEED to print are Red and Black, which, according to Listawoods are notoriously difficult to get decent depth and vibrancy from!!!!!

looks as if it could be a big chunk of money down the drain????

after a couple of e-mithers to Listawoods… it appears the disc they supplied with the ICC profiles, installation and config files …

CONTAINS THE WRONG INFO !!! 👿

All sorted now..Thanks to Dave Bolderstone at Listawoods for his patience.
