• Well hello!

Hi everyone, after reading this forum for ages I decided finally to register and have a say!

    Basically its great!

I stumbled across the board about 2 years ago (I think) when I was looking around for inspiration with a P60 issue, that was cleared up by reading the forum – so many thanks.

I specialise in creating decals and graphics for the Largescale Model Car world, an extremely niche market and (to be honest) extremely fiddly too!

I currently use a P60 for creating some of the decals (although if I could find a white ribbon it would help, but heard nightmares about that!) but mainly its all cut using an absolutely ancient Roland Camm1 PNC900 which is slowly but surely dying of old age (:)

Having used a newer Graphtec 5100 recently to do some decals (including a Michelin man which was 3 cm high) I was very inmpressed so will be off in a mo to see if there’s a small (baby size) cutter that will do my average 1cm high text as nicely as that one did.

One of the reasons the PNC is so abused is because I go all over Europe with it when I go to Race Meetings and cut decals for competitors on the spot.. all that traveling has aged it I fear! 🙄

I hope that my (now registered – woohoo!) activity on the site will bear fruit and furnish me with the next cutter to trek around Europe with..

Many thanks for a great board – I think Gold membership is nigh.

    Regards

    hi owen
    big welcome from me mate…

    i had a pc60 for many years, great tool…
as for the graphtec. i have a 54inch wide one… another great tool. one of the best cutters on the go in my honest opinion.

    small graphtec?
well i know graphtec do one about £1000 brand new.. smallest of cutters they do i think. see online shop for details..

its funny you mention traveling etc with cutter. i almost went about doing that a few years ago with mountain bike racing… custom stickers at meets and the like.. easy money, i like being around those sort of events. back to child hood and all that 😉

anyway.. glad to have you on board.. nice hat 😕 😉 :lol1:

    Welcome, Nice hat.

You will not regret joining, and especially getting the gold membership. I can’t believe that you’ve been on here for over 2 years and haven’t joined!.
I joined within about 2 days.

Everyone is really nice here, or so I’ve seen so far, and always ready to lend a hand in anything without being egotistical or anything.

Best site on the web 😀

Thanks for the replies, its funny how 2 years have gone so quickly! I think its because I do the same thing so often that when I need advice its a big deal!!

Right now I must go and find out about that baby cutter and the dreaded white ribbon for the P60 (the holy grail as far as I am concerned).

Hi Carrie (and all those that welcomed me)

Its really nice to have such a welcome and very appreciated.

In terms of the avatar, I have to look after so many websites in my industry that its become second nature to chuck up the avatar immediately – and good manners I think!

I must go and make a slightly bigger one which is less Christmassy 🙂

Once again thanks for the welcome.

    Hi and welcome owen.
eing a cheeky blighter I’m asking if you could possibly do a demo on creating miniature graphics 😀
