Hi all, just a quick easy one for you..

A customer is wanting some signs warning that they hold no responsability for loss or damage whilst on their premises, but we seem to have a mixed opinion in the office as to what it should say.

    we have so far:
ALL VEHICLES AND BELONGINGS LEFT AT OWNER RISK

THE COMPANY CAN ACCEPT NO RESPONABILITY FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE INCURED WHILST ON THESE PREMISES

any help or advice is appreciated

    cheers
    stephen

    Stephen,
disclaimers, in the UK are worthless.
as you probably know, so the wording is irrelevant…

Stephen, I would put the ball in the customers court, you make signs, not advise on legal matters, tell them to take advice from their solicitor as for the wording, its not your responsibility (note the spelling also)

Insurance companies still insist on disclaimers being put up.

    quote Lorraine Clinch:

I didn’t know insurance companies insist on disclaimer signage.

Do you think that by insisting on this type of sign being displayed, that they try to use the wording on the signs as another way to try
and wriggle out of paying out for genuine insurance claims?

    😀

    Hi Neil

I’m sure you are right. I recently enquired about installing play equipment in the pub we are buying, and ensuring that we would be covered in case any little darling hurt themselves. I was told that as long as we had disclaimer notices displayed prominently we would be covered.

On the other hand, I tried to get cover for damage to customers vehicles whilst on the car park, to be told no-one would cover this, and to have notices up to ensure we were covered against anyone claiming.
