  • Wall display suggestions please

I have a customer who is looking for ideas for a wall display. Not 100% sure of the size but will probably be 8ft x 4ft ish.
Basically he wants a large map on the wall where he can mark certain routes on it but he also wants the ability to alter those routes at any time.
I am thinking along the lines of a large printed map with some sort of wipe clean surface. He can then add and alter routes at any time using a white board pen.
Does this sound like the way to go or do you know of a better system?
Hope my description makes sense. Thanks in advance

We’ve used one of those off-the-shelf laminated maps in the past. Not as big as you want, about 4ft x 3ft maybe. We used it for sticking pins in and writing on using whiteboard markers. Worked a treat and cleaned up easily. We used it for a few years and then turned it over and used the white background as a whiteboard. Laminated both sides of course.

Not what you’re looking for I realise, just an account of how it worked for us.

a bit like neil has suggested…
get it printed as you wish by a trade printer, and get it laminated with dry-wipe laminate. get the whole thing mounted to aluminium composite "hoarding board". and fix to his wall. he can then move it if he needs to also.

You can also buy white coated steel sheet, if you mount the print onto this and then bond it to foamex or ACM then it will also have the possibility of being a magnetic dry wipe board.

Like the idea of it being magnetic too – neat!

Fantastic idea, thanks. What’s best to bond it with? Double sided tape or something like spray glue
