  • W-Pass print option, advice needed?

For the longest time I have used W-pass when it comes with a profile, but, embarrassingly I really have no idea what it is!

Can anybody tell me what it does, is it better quality, what are the drawbacks if any, and why?

    Thanks

Is this for Roland machines, Simon? I have never heard of it either!

Maybe something that came along after I switched from solvent?

Roland printers have included W-pass print modes for a number of years. These are higher pass print modes than non W-pass print modes.

The benefit of W-pass use is that artifacts like banding are better hidden, and percieved image quality may be somewhat higher.

The downside of W-pass print modes is that printing time increases, which decreases the productivity of the printer. Ink consumption also may increase with the use of W-pass print modes.
