Would I be right in advising a customer against putting vynil on the rise parts of a set of wooden stairs.

The reason being that it will look tatty in no time due to being kicked.

This is a real old-timey look that I rarely see except in movies, and I really like it.
What if you used a paint masking and floor enamel for the lettering?
You could maybe even add in some hardener but would have to work fast.
Even with a scuff or two it would still look good.

Ive done this for exhibitions apply a logo to foamex then slice to stair riser height and Velcro on so removable straight after – looks the dogs.

For a permanent feature as Jill said will be ok even with a few scuffs or if really worried reverse apply to clear acrylic strips and screw in place.

I think I see your reasoning with the paint Jill, a scuff would be better than a tear, it would be a first for me mind you.

Tks John, it is meant to be permanent, that’s another option.
