VW Golf RR done for LeMan
Posted by Mo Gillis-Coates on 9 June 2015 at 09:49Proud of this, took around 7 hours 2 of us, not a single piece of wrap material used, it was all polymeric 7 year. But only on for a few weeks then off again.
All the lines where done with wrapcut filament tape as it was the only was we could produce a visibly straight cut to the eye.
Was probably one of the hardest fits I have done, especially when all you see everyday is mostly transit vans etc, but well worth the extra effort, and masses of experience gained from the job.

Nice work Mo! Really like it 🙂
We found ourselves wrapping a mark II GTi the other week… at the time I wished it was just a van with vinyl graphics on it, but the finished result was well worth it!

Nice work.
How do you get on with the wrap cut? do you not find it leaves dodgy edges after?

I did at first, but then I learned how to use it properly, I didnt know you had to pull the filament away from the backing tape before you pull for the cut, preciously I just pulled the tape which gave me dodgy lines. If you take the filament out it gives a nice clean line.
Well works for me, did you pull the fillament out before cutting?

I tend to cut the actual tape to get the thread easier, I then pull the thread.
I’ve used it a few times and although it gave me a couple of dodgy parts I got away with it using it on avery 700 but the last time I used it was shocking, I wonder if you can only use it on certain vinyls.
The last vinyl was a wrapping vinyl from mactac and I had to redo the line manually as it was so bad.

Ive not really had a problem with it, except its not brilliant on laminated print. I used Hexis SupTac for this job, which it seems to work fine with, well as soon as I pulled the filament instead of the tape lol

Looking good, Mo.
You should post some pics of the double bass you wrapped. That looked great too!!
