    Shaun,

The only thing I can think of is that the metallic / white on the MT machine may need extra drying. I have some of the promo graphics from Roland using the metallic and it rubs off fairly easy. (without lamination of course)

Shaun, I’m waiting on my two VS640’s to be delivered next week. From what I have been told, the CCMMYYKK configuration runs as fast, but the print quality is not the same. The XC540 has the better print at the faster speed. The dual configuration is great for production mode, but you wouldn’t want to do fine text for instance.

In equal terms, to match the quality of the XC540, you need to run the CCMMYKlmlc configuration in the VS640..

I’m getting one in that configuration, and one with the white/silver option. I am running two sc540’s now, but the slower speed is not an issue as I don’t have both machines running all day everyday anyhow.

fine text should be easy in uni-directional on all good quality machines.
