    hi all,

just wondered on your opinions of the choice i have to make. in the process of finalising the decision for a print/cut combo and like the cjv30 but cant go for a solvent, so have narrowed it down to a new vp540 @ 12500 or an ex-demo sc545ex for 10500.

mainly printing graphics onto vinyl for cars/windows, plus banners etc.. at the moment, but would like to expand if we had a printer in house.

for a general high street sign shop what would you say the best deal is from these 2? it’s annoying to think that the vp540 was going for just over 11k last year and the prices have gone up even though the machine is getting an older model etc..

any thoughts from users would be ace… many thanks!

Go for the VP the SC545 although a good machine is showing its age, in fact i’m surprised that there is still an ex demo out there. It as been superceeded by the XC 540 for quite a number of years now. Plus the VP as the benefit of the new RIPC update to increase its speed which i would be very surprised to see Roland do for the SC545. It also costs over a £1000 in ink carts for the SC545 (12 carts) plus 12 spare on the shelf

thanks kevin… i will eliminate that from my enquiries…

just found out that the mimaki comes with as an eco-solvent option which would be good for use in a small shop space. does anyone have the mimaki who could give feedback in comparison to the roland?

the Ecomax ink option for the Mimaki is exactly the same ink as in a Roland i was actually told this by someone high up in Hybrid
