Why would my VP300 stop printing during a job? A couple of weeks ago i was printing a banner and on two occasions the printing simply stopped. Exactly the same thing happened today printing on vinyl. Yet on the other occasions in between the print has always completed its course.

Anybody suffered similar problems? Any help would be most appreciated.

    Thanks in anticipation.

On our SP540 I forgot to disable the power saving features on Windows so when the PC is put to sleep the rip stops and kills the print job.

I just set everything as always on and its been fine ever since.

We too have had similar problems. After much swapping and changing we put it down to something that the paid version of AVG was doing. Drove me nuts for about 3 months 👿 We ended up buying a new pc and eliminating possible causes as we went along. The only difference now is the anti virus software on it. Now runs 2 Versacamms without issue(Gary is touching wood as he types 🙂 )

    Cheers

    You could rip before printing

My VP540 did exactly the same thing. Fine when cutting but would inexplicably stop when printing. It turned out that it was too cold! I nearly spent £1500 on a new motherboard, but in the end moving the heater closer to the machine solved the problem! Obviously it only did it in the winter though…

The same thing happened to our Roland XC540…..Drove us mad for weeks trying to figure out what it was….We did everything updated the firmware, updated the rip software changed the computer, leads etc…..

Turned out that our machine wasn’t running at the correct temperature and this caused it to stop printing.

We now have a little portable oil filled heated kept under the printer, just under the main control, its on a timer and it kicks in an hour before we get in, its simply warms up all the componenets on the machine and allows it to print without stopping….

This took us a long time to figure out and i was glad to get this problem resolved.
