    Hey guys,

This is prob for the aussie guys on here. I just got a litre of this. I want to test it on a canvas print. Can I just spray it from a spray bottle? Or will I need to pull out my HVLP spray gun?

Also how long should I let the print dry before applying the laminate and how long does the laminate need to dry?

    Cheers
    Jason

Just gave this a whirl. I let the prints dry for about 6 hours. Probably should leave it longer.

Used the Wagner spray gun. Gave it a mist as per instructions then a good coating 10 minutes later. Gives it a nice gloss finish. Even if I don’t care about the protection I quite like the gloss it adds to it.

Spray it on using my finest setting and lowest output, a few passes and done.

Mums not happy with us taking over the bathroom now lol

So far we’ve got the lounge room, most of the dining, the billiard room is a fitting room and the hall way has a lot of crap in it. No wonder she can’t wait for us to move out later this year. Oh she hates me printing at night also she can hear the machine going from her room. Poor soul.

Hi Jason, sounds like you got it sorted already. I usually allow a day for ink drying time (water based pigment), spray a first thin mist coat, leave to dry for 15-20, then apply 1 or 2 heavier top coats.

You must have a very understanding Mum, although not surprised she might be happy to see you move out :lol1:

    Cheers Bill.

I ordered the product cause I saw your post in the other Canvas printing thread.

The print has dried now and I’m really happy with the finish. I only gave it one good coat after the initial mist coat and it came up trumps.

Yeh mum and dad have their own company so they understand but at the moment we got so much work on we have stuff everywhere waiting to get out or installed.

    Jason, missed this post… sorry.

As Bill says, you’ve obviously got it sorted.

I usually just spray one good coat, in both directions (up and down, then sideways) flat on a table. 12-24 drying time, all is sweet. The cross action makes sure nothing is missed, and ensures everything is covered.

It comes up well tho doesn’t it.

Really happy with the results myself too.

    Cheers

Heres my first effort using it. I tried to take the pic so the flash would show the gloss a bit on the right hand side of the canvas.

Picaso Canvas stretched over a 4cm deep frame measuing 60cm by 45cm.

We donated this as a prize and everyone wanted one.
