vinyl required for bus window graphics?
Posted by marty_j on 4 February 2004 at 14:54I’m sure i read this somewhere before in the forums, but can’t find it now.
Does anyone know the name of the perferated printable material used on bus windows.I’m sure there is a 38cm sprocketed version aviable as the little ‘portfolio’ thing I got with my edge had a printed sample.
Thanks

Hi marty,
The name your after is, one vision or through vision I have used

Spandex sell this product, it is called ‘contravision’ and is available in 380 sprocketed for the Edge. This is expensive stuff and most potential customers will pass a bowling ball when they are fully aware of the costs involved. The end effect is great though and as we all know, you’ve gotta be prepared to pay for that.

if your stuck.. cut vinyl strips verticle or horizontal.
each line 2mm wide space 2mm then 2mm line and so on.. cut this to the width of your print area. print your graphic over the cut area then weed away every second line. you end up with the exact same effect as clear veiw but this time the water wont get caught in the holes 😉doesnt cost you anymore than normal vinyl too 😀

Hey Rob, that is a damn good idea and one which I will defo be using.
Cheers!

Just explained the strip idea to my ‘boss’ and the difference in cost. Saves me having to order in anymore material as well.
