vinyl problem have I done something wrong to make it bubble?
I’ve recently bought a small amount of carbon effect vinyl for a job that I’ve been asked to do.
Being as I didn’t need much, I opted for an American seller on Ebay (thought it was worth a look)
The vinyl arrived and all looked well until I came to cut.As I unrolled the vinyl to insert on the cutter the foil backed carbon bubbled from the backing in many places…especially around the edges and at the ends.
Being as I’ve never used this type of foil based stuff before, have I done something wrong to make it bubble????I finally got enough ‘good’ to do the task needed but there was a hell alot of waste from the edges
I’ve recently upgraded from a Pcut to a more practical machine too but the new machine (to me) seems to cut everything else OK even tho’ its old

dont buy from ebay,
most suppliers do carbon fibre effect vinyl,
and is not that expensive for small quantities.We live and learn is my advice,
you get what you pay for,
and cheap is not always best.Peter

so it was the vinyl that was poor quality then???

Guessing that it was too tightly wound for posting / liner got damp & when you flattened it out to use the vinyl was a bit bigger than the liner….so you get loads of wrinkles where it lifts (edges mainly).
Had this once of twice when using ancient offcuts of some odd-ball colour that I’d rolled up a bit tight / polyester films are really bad!

What make and grade was it?
how much did you pay?
maybe it was poor quality, I dont know, but if you had bought from a reputable supplier, any problems, and they would more than likely, just replaced it.Peter
