Vinyl longevity, advice needed please?

Just been in touch with Avery and they do a vinyl specifically for buildings so we’ll see what they come back with price wise. Cast would have the longevity we need but is so floppy to use without application tape. There’s about 200m+ so needs to be fairly user friendly !

Cast vinyl is the only way to go if you want that kind of like expectancy

1, is avery facade film, that comes with a 10 year warranty

Cast, all the way if you want to give some sort of long life expectancy.

Avery does the facade vinyl like has been said, but I know they don’t do a satin finish in it because I looked into this for a job of my own.

I understand your concern over the install feel of the film, but if your using a cast facade film, it will handle pretty much the same as a regular cast, but the air release adhesive system will help a lot.
Just be sure not to apply in direct sunlight as it will increase the initial tack of the vinyl and make it soft and stretchy when working with it.

Cheers for your advice. Yeah when a novice tried to apply in direct sunlight and it causes all sorts of grief !

Finally have a RAL colour (7016 an anthracite grey) so on the hunt for swatches close to this.

A concern is whether to wrap the vinyl around the edges and stick to the back. The board it’s going onto is a 7mm laminate so has sharpe edges. If wrapping it around after a time of expansion and contraction the worry would be it tearing. We have considered routing the edges to remove the sharpeness. If you have any experience of the best way your knowledge is appreciated.

Also considering a vinyl applicator (similar for that used with application tape) given the volume of panels that has to be done but would prefer one that you can tension the rollers slightly as normal ones can cause vinyl to sag when pushing a board through so that’s on the list to try and find too.

Such a simple job but has thrown a few spanners in the mix !

being colour stable is one thing, ease of application another. but you may be being over cautious on what you are being asked of Myriam. i think the cast facade vinyl being applied properly is all that can be expected of your services. routering edges and so on. in the chance it may be expands and contract is not your concern surely? at the end of the day your using a premium vinyl for this line of work..
