  • Vinyl flood coating problems?

Posted by Richard Fuller on 16 August 2006 at 09:16

    Hi All

Need some advice please. I have a large area to cover with vinyl,900*900mm. Its Metamark Meta 4. I am getting creases and bubbles. Have applied application tape and carefully laid it down on the surface after cleaning with meths and giving the surface a light spray of application fluid. Not having any success. Thanks in anticipation.

Richard, I use Metamark all the time and have no problems with flood coating.
Is it a solid panel you’re fitting or is there text cut out of it?

is it flat? what sort of material is it going on to. Is the surface hot?

Best advice I can give is use MORE application fluid so that it almost floats, overlap all of your strokes and NEVER ‘rub’ back & forth as it will trap/create bubbles.

    Work out from the centre

For a 900×900 lay with plenty fluid, half the panel with squegee, half it again (+). Then work out the quarters OUT towards the edges. Can’t fail.

Thank you to Marcella, Shane and Dave for your response. I have tried the flood coating method and have had some success. Thank you all.
