Another pick your brains question folks.

As in another thread I have asked about direct to substrate machines I now need to find out a bout GERBERS mainly the Solara UV2 as we have been offered a used one and am wondering how reliable the machines are and ease of use any maintainace issues etc?

Any help would be great thanks for reading.

A friend of mine has one, and had nothing but problems with it to start. The issues have been sorted and now it only goes wrong once a week requiring an engineer. If you have a need to print very slowwwwwwwly and at poor quality this is the right bit of kit. This is my opinion and my opinion only, I wouldn’t have one if you gave it to me. Too much hastle!!!

as you may know Gerber and Spandex have the deal, so please discuss with Spandex about a maintenance contract, would love to hear if they offer it.

I dont own one but Spandex was offering the UV2 a fairbit over the last few years, the print quality is reasonable but it does have orange and green inks, so it can print fantastic colours, some of the best I have seen! However speed is it’s let down.

Then we have the newer ION with the catatonic inks, a little different but also has a roll collector on the bed, however its still a little slow for my liking. They recently launched the ION V, with improvements over speed, don’t know anything more then that.
