    Hi Guys,
we have been asked to print 450 qr codes for an estate agent, is there a way of bulk entering them into versaworks or do they have to be entered one by one? it is melting my brain doing them one by one!

    thanks

    Dan

yup one for each property! I have given up and laid them into a illustrator document and just entered the whole job, just worried as we have tried this before and it didn’t cut well! Would love to know if any genius has found a way round this.

    cheers

    Hi Dan,

Entering the QR’s individually into one big document in Illustrator will work, but as you say if the print and cut info is very long there’s a small chance of the alignment running out.
I can think of 2 ways around this that might help:

One would be to bring in each QR code as in individual job (may take a little while with 450 but you can drag and drop multiple files at once into the queue), Nest them and then use the custom cut feature to break up the print and cut into segments.
If you need help with this you can find a help file HERE on the Roland website.

Another way would be to use Variable Data.
You can setup a Variable Data field in your artwork program and export to VersaWorks.
You would then need to set up an Excel document with a list containing the roots to all your QR code images
    (e.g. C:>My Documents>Images>QRCodes…)
In the Variable Data tab in VersaWorks you can then simply link to the Excel and the RIP will dot he rest to create individual images by linking to the codes.
You can then add cut image boundaries or add a CutContour in the artwork first.
If you are not aware of how to use the Variable Data tab you can find some help HERE

    I hope this helps!
Any other problems I’d be glad to help

    Cheers

    Joe

cheers joe will try variable data! it was the individual loading of the files one by one into the job queue that was making my brain hurt!

    thanks
