Hello to you all. I’m having a little problem with my
Versaworks laying down too much black.
I’m printing on to metamark md5 gloss media.
With the up today’s md5 profile, and set to standard quality
    And sign & display setting.

The black was a RGB colour and was so heavy you could feel the print.
I have now changed the black to cmyk 0.0.0100′

This is much better but still too much.

Did try the generic 1 profile but that was rubbish too.
    Any help
    Please

What file type are you trying to print from?

    Cheers

Not too sure I’ll check in the morning, I’m using flexisign 10
    And there’s a direct link to versaworks A & B folders.
    Thanks

Just printed at the high quality setting, and the ink levels are perfect.

    What printer do you have?
Have you opened the eps file in any other program too check it’s definitely 100%k?
Have you tried any other profile apart from the generic?

It prints fine on high quality as the ink has more time to dry.
Is the printer and material kept in a nice warm environment?

    Regards

The printer is a versacamm sp300v
And yes it kept around 21 deg C all the time.
Never thought to open the eps file up. Try that
In the morning. And yes I tried generic 1 & 2 and the metamark
Profiles. And tried sign and display / max impact / us ?.
The nice thing about generic profile was I can print at high quality.
And adjust the speed to 700mm /min that seem to show a good
Prints. I did notice it’s just the black and reds that seem to cause the problem the run into each other. Black and blues or yellows in std mode look great.
I have a spectrometer so will try and Lear how to make my own profile.

If it’s the black and red that look like they’re laying too much ink down it sounds like a bad colour mix, like when an RGB colour is converted to CMYK, I think if you try creating a file from scratch as CMYK with 100% K square and see how that prints it should be fine.
