Hi all can anyone out there tell me the difference between a versacamm sp300 and a versacamm sp300v and how is the standard sp300 upgraded to sp300v?

any help and advice is much appreciated

Hi I think it the main difference is the rip that comes with it, the v stands for versaworks

because its a sp300 you are possibly using colourrip and nothing wrong with that.
the sp can be upgraded to a V as said for versaworks some times by the flick of a dip switch or two but could mean a new board.
i still run colourrip for my pro2 and i can’t change without spending big money.
as i am still very happy with CR i am not fussed, it does exactly what it should.

need to get a new pc board fitted to run versaworks which is about £1400 fitted

you could upgrade to another manufacturers rip though, like wastach or does signlab run sp300 directly?????? (not sure)

i guess you are having problems with pdfs in Colorip.

Hi Simon, thanks for the reply.

To be honest the answer is no, i have never had any problems with the printer or software…it was just something that was asked of me and i had no idea…

    cheers anyway
