  • versa camm sp-300 ink problem

I just recently purchased a used versacamm sp-300 and I can’t seem to get the ink tubes to fill…it won’t even let me do a wash…nothing goes from the cartridge through the tubes to the head. Is there something I’m missing or do I have something not working. I have been able to do a test cut as well as a design cut from flexi sign…so I assume that my drivers are correct…any thoughts or help would be SO GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! It always seems to be a weekend when there is no tech support available that these things surface. Thanks.

dont understand the wash bit. ?

the pump does all the ink drawing down the tubes.
tell the machine to do a clean and see it some ink goes in to the waist tank.

have done a clean several times and get nothing in the waist tank…when I remove the back cover near the cartridges, there are no fluids coming from the cartridges into the tube lines…thanks for your reply…could the lines be air locked?

did you see it working before you bought it?

    You could have

    Dried ink blockage
    bad pump
air leak at capping stations/dampers etc
    empty cartridges

no…didn’t see it run, but when it arrived I checked it over and it has obviously been run fairly recently as there was a little liquid in the drain bottle and the sponges near the head are still damp with ink. Do you think that I should flush the lines first or is there some way to tell if the pump is bad? New to this particular machine so just looking for a direction. Thanks

Get a plastic syringe from the Chemist

Undo the drain line side of your pump with the heads wound up

Put the syringe on that and suck some air through, you’ll see the ink come through and fill up the dampers.

Rinse and repeat for each colour
