• Vehicle wraps

I’d love to get into vehicle wrapping but at the moment buying a printer and laminator etc is out of the question. I was thinking is it worth going on a course to learn how to wrap, then buying the wrap vinyl in pre printed from a trade printer? would this be a cost effective way of doing this or does any one do this already?

While I firmly believe that wraps are the way of the future,
I lack both the skill and the machinery to do them.
And what if you ordered the wrap from someone,
then screwed it up when sticking it on?
If it were me, I would design it myself,
then sub it out to a company that I knew to be reputable.
I may have to do this eventually, and I’m glad I know someone local who can help.

That is my view too Jill. I have the technology and I do supply other shops, but sign guys that do stuff up the fitting have to come back to me to redo a panel, and that can prove difficult, and expensive in terms of their profit margins. Especially if I am busy too, cause I may not have time to redo it, plus you need to leave it a day between lamination or fitting, so there are delays involved.

The suggestion that you subcontract the printing and fitting would be a better option.

Of course, in James situation, I know were you are coming from. If you have the confidence that you can do the job and not stuff up, then go for it, but I would build in a ‘error’ margin just in case.

    Cheers
