    This was basically a colour change , the car was black to start with Printed the blue on Graphiwrap. system
    A replica of this years Le mans car.

    Number plate is real to

    James Deacon helped out with the fitting, in fact he did most of the blue,

    Nik, the fitting time was spread over 3 days, because of hold ups and unforeseen circumstances.
    But the actual man hours was about 16. + about another 10 hours measuring, and recreating the design, plus cutting and printing

    so in all I would say 30 hours total

    BTW this is the car I tried to replicate

    Love the ‘real GT 40’s’………bump in the door to make room for the drivers helmet…………..D types Jaguars…………love them..one day I will see a real one in the flesh………

    Nice one. Was there no colour in solid vinyl close to the blue? And did you lay the orange on after?

    Thanks for the comments.
    I could not find a pale enough pigmented vinyl that was also suitable for wrapping, and the client was happy with
    The orange was indeed laid down after, it would have been difficult to get the straight lines otherwise.

    looks spot on Peter was it hard to apply the orange around the the grill? Do you have any tips?

    Very nice job Peter. I understand the need for an exact match for the colours now. Very satisfying work to do, I sure, well done.

    David, Because the wrap was already in place, I just over sized the top half of the orange, and cut to shape with a scalpel, the blue pinstripe was then applied which covered any wobbles that i may have had,
    The bottom half was applied as a strip and just worked out from the leading edge, with a litttle heat

    Ha ha. This was built by Ford with a 370BHO 302 cu in lump.
    It would need a proper circa £40,000 to own this "improper" motor though.

    Rich, very little was removed, rear light clusters, repeater lights and the grills on the front wings and bonnet, only other bit, chrome trim on wndow bottom rubber.

    Oh, badges as well but not a lot else as the car is pretty smooth all round

    its not fair just before i go to bed.
    2 problems it wont fit in the garage by 1 inch.
    the fuel consumption would take the fun away 🙁 .

    Just had a call from the customer, he was over the moon at the attention the car got, so much so he also went to the le Mans classic as well.

    I did agree to remove the wrap about this time, but he has sold the car, and the buyer wants to keep the wrap on! and asked me to put the removal on hold, for another year, I dont think that will cause any problems, so agreed

    The guy I did the Dukes of Hazzard wrap for told me he saw that car at Le Mans and said it was a brilliant job :appl:

    A couple of pictures from Goodwood this month where this years Le Mans winning works Aston DBR9 GT1 was on show complete with all the dirt from the race.
    009 won it’s class by less than 5 minutes after 24 hours of racing. The sister car 007, which Peter’s customer car emulates finished 4th in class.

    If you think the car looks beautiful – you should hear one!
