hi all not been about due to Holiday with my kids had great time at butlins in bognor not my idea of a holiday but kids love it
any way I’m back and a bit burnt , iwould like to know how you get on with getting a correct measurement for bonnets from vehicle outlines ,thing is sides are easy and within an inch or two there fine but I’m having probs with getting the bonnet dimensions due to the bonnet not being flat or that’s what i think is causing the prob if you measure front top of bonnet to bottom edge it is not correct
    hope this make some sense
    thanks rich

    Rich,
if you have a plan and side elevation its straight forward to work out the dimensions. unfortunatley, most vehicle outlines are not that accurate, so you will have to measure physically.

    Rich,
if outline has overhead view looking down onto bonnet then it’s near enough but i always insist on measuring them anyway, just to make sure.
What are you going to do with it anyway?
Glad to hear you have had a good holiday, now knuckle down like the rest of us have been doing. 😀

shouldn’t be a problem then Rich, when i do these forecourt cars i use the overhead view & if it’s too big when i get their to put lettering on i just turn it on an angle (diagonal)
Customer usually thinks i have designed it that way. This is the good thing about showroom cars they want all lettering to be big bold & on an angle.

hi rich as has been said mate, its difficult as the top veiw and worse the front view are difficult as they are always shown at angles, so are never true. better checking first.
or if cuaght on the hop johns ideas a good answer too, just turn it :lol1:

good to see you back safe and sound mate. now i bet your ready to get stuck into the signwork now. best of luck rich..
