vehicle graphics: Stong Alarms
Posted by Nigel Fraser on 3 June 2004 at 17:54Here’s a van I just finished today and thought I’d post a piccy for you to have a look at 😀
It did take a lot longer than I had hoped to apply it (all dry 😉 ) but I was particularly paying attention to the details as the customer is very fussy ! It took about 6 hours to fit and 4 to print and prep the graphics and the customer didn’t think he was getting a good deal at £335+vat 🙄 You can’t really see in the picture but the white text in the logo is all black shadowed too.Oh well, he liked it anyway and it was a lot easier than that damn porsche the other day !!

Great work nigel, looks really professional!!! great layout, really nice job 😀
Did you really only charge £335+vat ????? Its certainly worth a lot more than that? Did you do him a deal for more vans or something?
Carrie 😀

Thanks 😀
No Carrie, unfortunately I just rushed the quote through a couple of weeks ago when I was really hasseled and I guess I just messed it up a bit 😥 But I was pleased with the way it came out anyway and I guess thats worth something.
I printed the images on my edge which also saved me having to buy in large format.Nigel

Awww bless Nigel, I suppose most of us have had our moments with getting a quote wrong, I have ….did a job with built up letters 2 sets but somehow only quoted for one 😮 still made a bit of profit but thats besides the point 🙄 …. I was so peeeeed off with myself & was for weeks ……. but on the other hand we have had a lot more work from the company & they recommend us no end, they have put a few new customers our way 😀

Must have been one of my ex customers Nigel, I seem to be able to pick them. I’ve now started to tell them that if they don’t like the price they can go else where. I was fed up being taken advantage funny thing is I dont seem to have lost a single customer, maybe thats because my prices are still lower than they should be but I didnt want to whack the prices up in one go.
Van looks good though, I expect he will be back as his fleet grows, and will demand a discount for quantity !!!

Thanks everyone for you comments 😀
Dewi – Yes thanks mate, but it was a real relief to do nice flat panels 😉John – I am terrible at putting my name to any job by way of little stickers, I think it’s just because I’m lucky enough to be constantly busy and so don’t really worry about where the next job is coming from ! The picture was originally from one of the image bank suppliers, Corbis I think but there was a problem with the licence and so it had to be redrawn completely in illustrator/corel. I didn’t get involved with this and it was provided to me on disc thank goodness 🙂
Martin – Good to see you back, havn’t see you around here for a bit ! Yeah your right, but I will not be reducing the cost you can bet on that, I made a point of letting him know that he was getting a real good price. I think I may suffer from the same low price problem you did even after I have made a concerted effort to increase them !!
thanks again 😀

Very nice job Nigel.
335 + vat and the client is whinging? He can afford a brand new van and I bet it’s not through charging low, low prices. Ask him for a quote for an alarm system and then tell him it’s too dear! 😉
