vehicle graphics: scott gas
Posted by Phill Fenton on 11 April 2005 at 08:09Here’s a van we did last Friday.
It literaly took two of us all day and part of the evening to fit. The layout was provided by the owners son who is a freelance graphic designer.
All done using vinyl

Nice!
I think tht’s the first time I’ve ever liked
customer-provided artwork!
Real sharp.

very good mate. I like to tell my customers a good design is no good if you use a poor sign co. Clearly this design deserves a professional sign co like yourself. Well done

Well done, that looks really smart, or as they’d say in Wrexham…….” Tidy, top shelf mate!” :2thumbs:

“Tidy Darts”
It looks really nice. Good job for you and the owners son. I’m sure it makes him proud to use his sons design on his work truck.

Nice one!
How many colours in total? Not sure from the pic how many greens you have used, And can I ask if you built the thistles up in the shop, or on the van?

Thanks for the Kind comments. This is the first example of artwork being provided by the customers own family that I have been impressed with 😀
We used 4 shades of green – three shades of purple – Black, grey and orange – so ten colours in all.
We built everything up on the van using registration markers. All applied dry.

I have to agree with you Phil, its very rare that customer supplied artwork is anywhere near this standard, good job looks really clean and is bound to get noticed.

I am resurrecting this thread 4 years later :lol1: :lol1:
The reason is I have just done the customers new van with exactly the same design as before – but this time instead of doing it using cut vinyl (which took two of us all day and part of the evening) we did it as a print and cut.
The job was so much easier this way. Fitting took only a few hours this time.
Here’s the new van:-

Looking every bit as good as the old one, if not better!

Nice job Phill, you’re obviously getting the hang of this sign lark. Be interesting to see how the print version compares durability wise with the vinyl version.

Phill nice work and the joins is no problem its only a sign lake would pick up on the join. You ever thought about writing a book ?
