Hey Rob, I’ll give you a loan of the mini for the weekend and you can do a wrap on it with the mirrored vinyl…… I’m sure people would love to see the video of that 😉

    Hey Ian,

Nice job on the Mini but my questions are about the Transit if that’s OK.

Was that legally OK on the road or was that a promotion for Ford?

What kind of Chrome vinyl did you use. I thought Chrome was not able to conform like that. It looks great.

Mind you in Australia you’d blind everyone on the road. lol :lol1:

    Cheers

    Simon

I think it was done for a TV commercial from memory Simon. Was only on for a day or two I think. Could be wrong tho.

vinyl was chrome from metamark but not just the polyester one it is the one with the polymeric backing.

yes it was a temp job – 3 weeks in fact so pretty close on ya guess shane.

if u look carefully at the sides showing the progress u will see i have started with the flat panels and only moulded overthe minimal creases, so basically i do it in sections with an overlap.. the bonnet looked kinda like fish scales as it was done in about 30 100mm sections overlapping away, not great up close but for the pictures needed it was fine..

what u see is pretty much all we covered….only half the rear… half the roof and the complete passenger side was normal.

i never did get a professional pic sent to me and im gutted the one i have of it is a bit blurred. but the relective / mirror van concept was used in bill board advertisements.

yes it was a promo for ford and it was a thrifty hire van that had its
    decals removed by us 🙂

just a fun job t be honest. hope i have answered all the questions..

Hi Just seen the Chrome Tranny. Out of a matter of interest how much did you charge for doing the van and how long did it take you

    Thanks

    Lee

PS Keep up the good work

ok this was a rush job and i did price up…in case of problems.

    8hours = £2200.00+vat

yes i know i should be wearing a mask, but hey no one else wanted to do it and if i was gonna take a risk it had to be worth it.
