smart, simple and to the point !! my kinda job 😀

when doing lines of text, to get it level, where toyou take a level from ? i normall use the roof gutter as is seems to be, focally at least, a good start point to use as a level, considering these vans normaly rake down toward the front it makes the use of a regular spirit level a bit useless !!

am i on the right lines ? (no pun intended !)

just wanted to compare with how you do it .

    thanks!

On the new transit I take the line from the bottom of the side panel, it seems pretty level! Besides sometimes you have to go with what looks right to the eye and not always the straightest line….. if you know what I mean! The bottom edge seems to be parallel with the gutter anyway.

I was £30 more expensive than the other quote he got, but he like the look of my layout. Refreshing to know that sometimes there are decent customers who don’t just run to the cheaper guy with your ideas… as plain as they maybe!

i agree Marcella, sometimes ‘looking right’ is more important than ‘being right’ !

i did a van the other day, i had no idea that he’d had other quotes, it was simple builders transit, and he wanted some simple lettering, using what he wanted to say, on both sides and the rear, an hours work plus about 2hrs at the pc, he liked my idea, even though it was embarassingly simlple and basic, single colour, no fancy stuff at all, but because it was what HE asked for, rather than an over embelished piece of art, i got the job ! i couldnt believe it when he said he’d had quotes from £80 to £270 for the job !! ( i asked £105 ) i’ve now got a load of sign boards and stickers for equipment to do too, simply because he liked my atitude and didnt mess about… i guess sometimes the customer DOES know what they want !

    Hi Marcella

Nice looking van. Less is more, if you know what I mean. Out of interest, how long did it take you to do the van – just applying it, not cutting or designing.

    Regards

    Hi Lee,

It took an hour and a half to fit. That’s both sides, bonnet logo and all this info you see on the back too as there is no rear glass. It was a good day, warm, no rain and no wind…….. (that’s Scotland as well!!!) so nothing to hold me up really.

I appreciate the comments guys, thank you! My vans usually look a bit boring compared to the stuff I see on the boards here, so any constructive critisism is always welcome! 🙂

    Nice job Marcella.

Got to admit I love the new Ford Vans myself – its almost as if the van designer was a vinyl fitter in a past life, plenty of nice flat surfaces.

    Nice one Marcella,
As everyone has said, easy to read, and has a corporate feel about it.

    Nice one Marcella
Normally you wouldn’t dream of puttind black on the blue but the outline lifts it right out and gives it style
