Being a new member, I thought we would display an example of our work.
This is one of a fleet of private ambulances we have recently done.

    Opinions welcome.

Very nice work Mark. Did you vinyl up the back panels seperately or as larger pieces and then trim around the doors etc?

    How long to do one?

    Thanks for the positive comments,

The vinyls used were, Oracal 7510 2/3Yr Flourescent for the yellow, RiMark Cast Flourescent for the Orange, and the new Avery 700 Premium Series for the green, red text for the rear and sides was done using LG Lucky-Lite Reflective, the client did’nt require the use of full 3M Dimond-Grade edge-sealed panels, as the vehicles are only kept for 18-24months, so a shorter life span non-reflective flourescent was ideal.
We removed all the trim etc. and covered the side in yellow, triming round the panels and doors by hand, then lay the green over the top to avoid gaps opening up due to shrinkage (and it gave us an edge to trim to), the rear chevrons however were done using 150mm stipes edge to edge (to avoid constant re-measuring) and set at an angle of 60o.

I will post some shots of some of the other vehicles mid-way through the job.

Just one comment. The top line of blocks in a battenburg kit should end with yellow at the front and back. I don’t know whether you have to follow PSDB specs on this (it looks like a private ambulance).

Point taken, it was just a private ambulance, and the vinyl used was’nt upto full spec anyway, the main intention the customer had with the job was so the vehicle “looked the part” but I will take into account your comments on the next job,
    Thanks for the tip!
