  • Vehicle graphic lamination, advice needed please?

    Hi all,

I could do with a bit of advice, please.

A local shopkeeper has asked me to do a set of signs for his shop with matching signs for his van.

I’m going to laminate the shop signs, but I’m not sure about laminating the van signs. Should I, or will that make them too thick to apply properly?

    Thanks

    John

If it’s digital print then you really must laminate them or they will only last short term. But if it’s self coloured vinyl there is no point in laminating them.

Thanks Rob. I should have said, it’s a print. So I’ll laminate.

    Cheers

    Rob? :lol1:

Phill is correct, unless very short term its always best to laminate the prints when applying to a vehicle. laminating vehicle prints enhances the print and help protect from abrasion, chemical and UV damage by the sun.

it will actually make the application easier as it with thicken up the feel of the film so you wont need application tape unless the prints a contour cut odd shape or if you dont have a felt squeegee as a nylon one will create friction against the vinyl surface.

    best of luck…

Sorry, that should read Phil (but the email telling me there was a response was from Rob!)

And thanks for the additional info, Rob.
