I haven’t been posting much work in recent months so thought i would show you what i was up to today.
Below is a few pictures of a Clio car i wrapped today with the help of Andrew.
It wasn’t too difficult, but was time consuming due to various issues i had with the likes of some body parts being made of thin plastic. which made applying rather difficult because you could not apply enough pressure to your squeegee or the panel buckled. i.e. front wings, parts of bumpers etc.
anyway, the pictures below are not of the wrap "complete" i still have some more graphics to be applied on top of the skin. this will be done on Monday.
the design is not seamless as you can see but i wasn’t too worried about that due to how elaborate it is anyway… by that i mean, I’m sure Joe public will overlook this. :lol1:
I will post some pictures of the finished job next week…

The good thing for me was i was able to video the whole wrap process…
over 450gig of video footage to cut and edit now. :lol1: this will be loaded in weekly segments in the video area of the site very soon.

Well done Rob – That looks very impressive, well done. 😀

What wrapping material did you use, and is it laminated?

I’m guessing rob used no app fluid and I’m sure he laminated it.

    thanks folks…
yeh i applied it dry. 😀
phill it was wrapped using Oracals wrap with equivalent over laminate, oraguard i think its called.

the idea of the wrap design was to have maximum impact with little info. that way the car attracts the eye and the message is simple. i.e. what it promotes and phone number. rather than lists of text, pictures here and there etc

meant to say phill, this is expected to be used for 1 year+ as part of an on ongoing promotion, so thats why i have laminated. i know many glasgow taxi’s with a one year life go ahead without lamination for year long campaigns but i like to be safe than sorry… i know some truck wraps that i see weekly with contract work i do without lamination lasting 3 years or more. but thats to the untrained eye… up close the prints look weathered and tired, but still carry the message none the less.

i take it that means it doesnt all match up ie: back and bonnet? nice job done….real eye catcher 😉

    hi nik
yes, we took the side as one image. mirrored it for the opposite side, then just printed a third side for up and over the roof and down the back.
we printed the bumpers separate though.

I think making it all fit seamlessly would be very difficult indeed.
