    Hi All

Just completed my first ever job. Fairly basic design I know but I thought I’d post a general thanks for all the tips and tricks I’ve read on the sign boards over the last month or so: ie. how to apply vinyl into deep panel recesses, how to strip old vinyl (wallpaper stripper – superb), how to dry apply (hinge method etc.), good suppliers to use, prices to charge etc. etc.

The job comprised 3 * MWB Sprinters (2 of which needed stripping of old vinyl), 1 * Vauxhall Combi, 1 * GRP sign and 1 * A-board.

It was all fairly straightforward apart from the fact I’ve only got a 300mm wide plotter and the large ovals required 3-tiles each. Did the first van wet and then swithched over to dry with only a few minor bubbles and one very small wrinkle on the 3 remaining vans.

    Thanks
    Dave

macky, great work! how easy did you find applying the vinyl in the recesses? Im fairly new to all this as well and have avoided putting vinyl on recesses of the merc vans as im told they have a ‘hammered’ finish in them? did it all stick ok?
hope you dont mind me asking but how much did you charge for the vans and signs?

the pictures you can resize width to 600 all should show ok then

Other than the fact that the pix are HUGE,
everything looks really good to me.
    Simple and to the point!
Only thing I would have done differently
would be to make the phone # slightly smaller.
    Love….Jill 😉

Looks like you missed the tip about KEEPING YOUR PICTURES TO 600 PIXELS to keep them on the screen.

apart from that well done bit daunting doing it for the first time especially when some one is hoverin in the background.

Thanks for the comments – have now figured out how to alter the settings on my digital camera to a VGA or smaller resolution.

I charged £245 per Sprinter, £155 for the Combi, £180 for the GRP sign and £120 for the Swinger.

Any comment on these prices are welcome.

    Cheers

From your location, and the simplicity of the design, I think your pricing is about right,
“daown souf” we could get away with a little more.

Never been to Australia, but i can imagine that space is not a premium as it is here in the UK,
therefore, most properties are small and have small bedrooms. To make the most use of space
we have Fitted bedrooms, with wall to wall, floor to ceiling wardrobes and
    other bedroom furniture.

Thanks for the time to answer that question Lee.

Never been to your neck of the woods either, but we generally do not have issues with room sizes in the area I come from.

    Thanks again
