**URGENT** Advice for fitting this logo

you should be able to do that without tile joins david. will try explaining later as i am just about to fit a van myself. 😀

you would apply application tape definitely, 751 is a cast and a more aggressive adhesion than a wrapping film,

I am intrigued how I could cut that without any joins, its about 2m wide…

Unless I cut it so that the tiles fall where the door seam is?? 😕

Might be 2 metres wide overall David but you have 2 distinctive halves which could be cut separately & lined up on the van very quickly before you started to apply.

Can should be with me this week, and I’ve got all the vinyl cut ready.

My plan is to apply the logo to the high points of the van, around the panels, then work from the centre to the panel outwards leaving about 100mm to stretch into the recess.

I assume best applying to the flat area’s with the app tape still in place, then removing prior to working into recesses.

Had a play with the 751 on my caddy van, but it doesn’t have any panels to mess about with.

Raising a previous post, I as have had the vehicle all day, and after numerous attempts to get the F*ing logo on the van, We’ve managed 1/3 of the logo on one side.

Customer isn’t happy, and I am even more Pee’d off.

We’re struggling to around the door handles. We’ve tried applying as if it were a wrap, applying to the highest part first (the rub stip) and then work our way out, leaving 50mm off the paintwork between the door panel and the rub strip to work in.

We’re using 751 which can be pulled off and repositioned but it’s certainly no wrap film.

751 will work on that van shape.
cut the graphic then tape (my clever cloggs son probably would not bother to tape it ) then cut the backing paper to the shape quite close.
offer up to van position and mark with bits of tape, pull down about 125mm of backing paper at a time keeping the film taught and the rest of the backing paper in alignment with your marks.
use a new felt edge sueeeeeeege that is wet if no tape used.
you will find it a bit better as the day temp falls a bit.

We’ve cut them in 3 parts using 1230 751, pap taped up and then trimmed the excess.

Would you suggest starting from the top or bottom?

Don’t want to go removing handles a) no idea how b) its brand new straight from the dealership.

Would you apply similar to a wrap. Apply to the high points, door handle, scuff strip, top of the dir then apply to flat areas before removing pap tap and working into recesses and welds?

Lay it on the door and then push the blade through around the edges of the handle so you are trimming that bit out which will allow you to fit it flat. You can’t use the handle as a high point. I wouldn’t even use the side strip as that bit is not staying on.

But see if you can remove the handle or find a friendly local body shop who will do it for you. They are often quite easy to do.

We tried trimming the handle out but couldn’t get a decent hole, either too big or to small and the vinyl teared.

The app tape makes it fairly rigid too which didn’t help.

Think i’ll apply from the top and work down the door the weight of the vinyl will help keep it taught
