  • Type Of Projector…Help Appreciated.

I was looking into painting large scale drawings on walls, etc…I was looking at getting a projector of some sort.

Do you folks out there use them?

I have seen stuff like the following link…but is this more of a toy than a proper tool?

    Cheers. 😀

I have one like this (not available online tho)
    http://www.officedepot.com/textSearch.d … &x=17&y=15
it’s the Apollo projector, like teachers use.
It works very well for wall jobs.
Make sure you buy an extra bulb if you buy a projector tho, you never know when you’ll need it.
Oftentimes you can get one from an army surplus store or a school sale.
    love….jill

I would imagine that the ‘toy’ ones you are looking at would have to be used in a very darkened room to be able to see the image.
You should be able to get an overhead projector and print your designs on A4 acetate, that would work.
You can also get a projector connected directly to your laptop on site and project straight from Corel or Photoshop. That is what I do.
It still has to be in a dulled light environment. Projecting outside in the day is a no no 😀

I have an old epidiascope, havn’t used it for years, I think it needs a new bulb. You can have it if you like, just needs cleaning up.
Needs to be used in a darkened room for best results. Gets flippin hot as well so you can’t put acetates in it.
Where abouts are you in the land of the dragon.

    Thanks for the replies folks.

I was tempted to test the water with the cheaper options so see how it goes…I have been asked to do a bit of work in pre-school classes.

Mike, Thanks for the offer. I am based in Ammanford way…how far away are you?

    Cheers..CHRIS 😀
