  • Truck vinyl for PVC curtain sides, advice please?

    Hi,

Basically I’m after a vinyl suitable for curtain sided vehicles.
I’ve found a few older posts about this, but was wondering what the latest info was.

I’ve rang around all my suppliers and managed to find:
    Oracal 451 (Recommended by Spandex)
    APA Truck

Reading the spec sheets, the APA sounds a lot more promising.
Does anyone know of any others available?

I’ve always painted curtains however this customer insists on vinyl.
Any info or advice is much appreciated.

    Thanks

We recently did some curtains. Weighed up APA & painting.Opted to paint, with hindsight vinyl may have been quicker.

APA truck vinyl’s adhesive reacts with the PVC in the curtain forming the bond, so it needs to be as close to 100% PVC as possible. From memory APA only sell vinyl in 5m increments.

Oracal 451 is a banner vinyl and the wrong advice for this job.
There is other truck curtain vinyl on the market but from memory are much more expensive than the likes of APA.
In your position, would most likely run with the APA truck material.
