Does anyone have the transport for London font?

I have requested it through their site but I was hoping to get the artwork sorted tonight.

    Cheers

If you tell me how to do this. then I can get it to you…. but you can download it for free aswell (that’s how I got it)

The London Underground one is called Johnston. Similar to Gill Sans, but
    not quite the same.

Yeah thats the one, they will give it out if you are working for them but you have to wait for the creative department to get around to you, just trying to speed up the process if anyone can help.

I’ve got it at work. I’d rather not pass it on, but I’ll happily set some text for you in the morning.

If it’s a lot of text, post a .txt file to save me having to type it all.

You’ll probably get pretty close using Gill Sans if you need to work out sizes in advance.

Angelique, Eric Gill was a pupil of Edward Johnston and developed and refined the the Underground font into his own work. That P22 cut is quite different to the updated version that Transport for London use these days.

EDIT: looking for that TfL link reminds me, if it’s only an odd logo you’re after Archie, you might be able to drag it out of one of the PDFs in the Design Standards here

    Hi,

The text I need is "Don’t be a mug, read…"

    and also "Above The Line"

Both need to be aboout 200mm long at 300 dpi if you can do that for me it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

Here you go, check your email as well.

I thought I’d post it here too, just in case any really sad anorak types might want to compare it to Gill and P22’s recreation.

I might give it a go myself later! 🙄

What did I say about sad anoraks? 😳

They’re obviously related, but there are some pretty fundamental differences.

    Thanks for the link guys….

I have a customer with a london routemaster who wants the london transport writing on the side.

    This is a great help.

    Cheers
    Joe

I’ll see if I can find a pic of it outside my shop…..
