Looks good so far. How much time do you have invested in this piece so far?

Not long enough yet, needs to be completed by the end of the month so I am tending to do it evenings at present which isn’t ideal as I am a morning person, but I keep topping up the malt glass little and often and the time seems to fly by!! 😉

Cant want to see the finished piece. The royal coat of arms and heraldry in general has always fascinated me.

You should rub the parts that aren’t to be gilded with a raw potato.
An old Irish trick I hear.
I hate it when I gild & the gold is more brilliant
where I DON’T want it to stick than where I laid it on the damn size.
That is why I rarely gild.
    Looks good so far tho!
    Love….Jill

Looking good already. That gold leaf is just beautiful. Wish I could do that.

I know where you are coming from Jill, it’s a right pain in the butt!! I tend to use whiting or talc around the areas not to be gilded, smells nicer than potatoes too!!!

They Irish folks are nuts!! :lol1: :lol1:
