  • Totem/Pylon/Monolith type sign.. any help please?

Posted by Robert Lambie on 1 September 2007 at 13:41

    hi folks…
i have a customer right now that is looking for "something different"… the trouble is he is after a totem/pylon/monolith type illuminated sign. his words were "classy looking"… 😕 the thing is. in the past i have built my own from scratch or i have out sourced them if they have been specific in the type they want. my problem is the ones i have seen are not what i would called classy/different…

can anyone help with a supplier of this sort of thing, "or" if not a supplier, a picture of something that is different from the norm that may help inspire me to create one from scratch?

thank you in advance for any replies…

Hi Rob – don’t know if these will spark any inspiration…but all were for customers who didn’t want a basic monolith.

    Internally illuminated

    thanks craig, much appreciated.
i like the look of yours…

im considering buying one in now and adapting it to create something a bit more unque to save me a bit of time. im also considering having some sort of rock/slate feature base created to mount it on and lighting the surronding area… ive not seen the actual signs location so i think i am going to have to have a drive over and see it before i get this design together. 😕

Very nice work Craig, was the maritime sign made by yourself? was a concrete plinth put in first to bolt it to? questions questions 😀

    Hey guys,

With these type of signs over in England do you need an engineer to certify them or the design?

Or do you just put them up?

    Cheers

Steel construction, foundation upon project from statics. The top internally illuminated. The letters on the top are 3D-acrylics letters.
