    Thanks Carrie,

I’m not sure how long I can put up with me ‘banging away’,
It’s already starting to annoy ME 😳

I don’t think Jill appreciated me messin’ with her eyes, I’ll wait until she asks me ‘pretty please’ then I’ll remove it (mad)

    (sorry jill  )

had me laughing away to myself there…

i dont mind animated avatars at all… as long as the picture is of the person posting, i dont see any harm in it one bit.

    Yo Nik,

Photoshop 7 to start with, then into Image Ready (part of PS 7, web graphics section)
I started with setting up my old Nikon coolpix 880 to take a ‘burst’ of 16 photos with half second intervals. This is a feature which is handy, it puts all 16 photos onto the size of 1 normal photo (in a tiled fashion) each little photo is quite small but ideal for making animated gifs, I then picked 6 of the best ‘drummy’ pics & pasted them to 6 seperate PhotoShop layers.
(sorry if this is a bit techy Nik, I’ve been using PS for 10 years & I’m still learning 🙄 )
After coming up with the 1st ani gif it was a bit big, 35k, so I cut down the frames to 3, made it smaller & reduced the colours from 32 to 16, now it’s about 18k
Thanks Nik, you inspired me to have a go after you made me smile with your ‘winking’ 😉 😉
    Cheers,
    Stevie

    hi steve

thanks for reply, i used photoshop to touch up & resize jills photo, then used coral draw to make a movie in two bits, pretty easy peezy!!

nothing is too techy for me steve, i understand fully and i only have photoshop 6 and still learning, i had a lot of bother with my anim. gif getting it to the 20k size, it actually took me a whole afternoon!! drove me potty!! anyway it was my first attempt, hopefully there will be more!!

i think your’s is fab the resolution must be down to the nikon!! 😛 😛
i have a nikon slr which i won’t give away picture quality is just superb, but development tooooooooo slow!! 😀

WOW Nik…… Van the Man!!!!! Fantastic,

Which era was this mate? …. Early days of ‘Them’, ‘Astral Weeks’?,
    70s ‘Moondance’ days?…… 80s ‘Beautiful vision’ days?

Can you tell I’m a bit of a fan? I must admit I don’t like all of his stuff, the last album of his I bought was ‘Back on Top’ back in ’99 but the guy is so prolific, almost every year there’s a new Van Morrison album.

Thanks for sharing…. you’ve stired some memories, It’s 6.30am and I’ve now slammed ‘the best of Van’ on the CD player… ‘Gloria’ blasting through the shed!!!! :punk:

    Cheers Nik,

    S :drums:

complete with animated bits (hopefully). Love what you’ve been doing so keep it up and I’ll catch yous later.

    Cheers Pete the pictureless
