    Hi Alan

My advice is steer clear, these are rebranded machines from abroad, sold on ebay and are usually nothing but trouble, I would be sure that this is the reason for the sale, this person has realised it is junk and wants to sell it to buy a real cutter.

just my opinion, use it, don’t use it (!)

6 months is almost new for a cutter, £300 odd quid for a 1200 wide machine is a desperado sale or you are getting junk.

i agree, dont bother! when people useally put these post on here for advice, they useally ignore it… dont do it, contact Graphtec or Summa, i have both, there good machines with all the back up and advice you need, if you buy cheap you buy twice, my graphtec is a ce1000-60, its old and ive never had a problem….if this cheapo import goes wrong you’ll find it hard to get parts and repair.

Also ive heard that the design packages that come with these machines are not very good.

The sign show is coming up, go there may 1 -3rd at the NEC, you may find what your looking for there, if you can raise the money for a decent plotter you’ll be thankfull in the end.

Oh dear, thought they reliable, and with back-up?

    OK just being sarci, 😉

But not the most diplomatic way to recommend "known" brands as opposed to cheap imports?

i have 2 summas……one has never had a problem, the one in question is from my uncle who i think bought it when he took over a another company so don’t know what happened…….could have been dropped or banged, what i should have said is look after them and you’ll have no problems!

but i bet it would be cheaper to repair than an import!!!

Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your money get a Graphtec or Summa
when starting out you want to spend little money if possible but don’t compromise on the cutter. After listening to people on here I got a Graphtec 610mm with stand cutter for a grand and i’m glad i did its a quality machine with 2 years backup.
There are lots of posts on here from people buying cheap cutters and having problems with them. If you can’t stretch to that sort of money wait till you can.

    regards
