Posted by Mike Grant on 29 February 2008 at 20:00No I didn’t do them, but I have seen them. A great way to advertise.
They certainly used their loaf!

Oh my!
I’ll take anything…as long as it doesn’t contain rye flour (food allergies)
But you have to tell me something you’d like from the good old US of A in return!

The pumpkin pie would be smashed to smithereens by the time you got it, but I can send a can of pumpkin (has the recipe on the back) and either instant or quick grits (which is hominy corn, ground up, looks like paste)
Just PM me your mailing addy, Lynn and Harry.

I always imagined it to be beef ………….hope to try it in Texas…….I presume you can get it there? Couldn’t get it in Oregon when I was there or Oklahoma.
-
Harry, it is a breakfast dish usually, best served with a lot of salt, pepper, real butter, and even some Red-Eye gravy if down south.
Although in the south you might get it as a side order all day long.

Funny that, I always imagined Grits to be some form of offal,
goes back to when I first saw the Beverly Hillbillies I suppose
