  • Thicker than normal vinyl?

Had a request from a friend to make up some stencils that will be used to sandblast a logo onto some glass. I’m pretty sure the usual 70-75um stuff won’t hold up during the process. Is there anywhere I can source a thicker more durable vinyl for said application.

    Cheers Chaz

Pretty sure you can get sand blast material you cut with a 60 degree blade.

most vinyl stockist will stock a sandblast film, but they are thick & are better suited to a Tangential Plotter.

Aslan do sandblast in 3 thicknesses, you only need thinnest for glass but strangely the thickest cuts best on a plotter (very good in fact), set speed low with a 60o blade and you’re away…..

Thanks for the replies guys. I’ve ordered some Aslan S68 medium weight from MDP.

I’ll let you know how I get on.
